Job Description
Provide Kubernetes Engineering Services to Data services team.
Role will require extensive experience with Kubernetes to help with all Kubernetes clusters and deployments.
Help automate the automated deployment, CI / CD of all of our services in a consistent and reliable way to production, at scale.
Take Kubernetes and Docker to production for all our new services and consistent deployment/management practices across physical data centers and AWS

Job Expectations
SME s in Kubernetes and Docker
Assist in coordination of services deployments on Kubernetes.
Work with the development teams on the CI/CD process related to Kubernetes deployments.
Release and deployment process working with test and QA tooling includes things like (Jenkins, nexus, AWS ELB, chef)
Enthusiastic, high-energy individual, self-motivated and self-directed
Cloud Services/IaaS engineering experience is a plus
Assist in the performance of Kubernetes cluster builds, upgrades, and configuration
Work with Kubernetes clusters in multiple clouds and bare metal environments
Troubleshoot issues related to our Kubernetes clusters.
Participate in research, POC for 3rd party integrations with Kubernetes, and testing new Kubernetes features and technologies.
Responsible to build, scale, and upgrade Kubernetes clusters.
Keep current on the latest trends, features, and technologies related to Kubernetes.
Configure and maintain Kubernetes monitoring and logging.
Hands-on experience of Kubernetes and Docker
Strong problem-solving skills
Understanding of CI/CD and how that integrates with DevOps and Kubernetes

Additional Skills:
The following skillsets are required:
RHEL 7 admin level skillset, including performance tuning, package management tools, RHEL 7 services
AWS admin level skillset for EC2 & Storage, custom AMIs, CloudFormation template creation
Java development skillset at a level of read, understand, modify code from existing projects
Common build tools such as maven, gradle, sbt, and make

Good to have, not required:
Go and Scala languages
Python
NoSQL databases: Cassandra, MongoDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL at a deployment & management skillset level
Integration / automation with tools such as Jenkins
