Overview

Designs, installs, and evaluates quality assurance process sampling systems, procedures, and statistical techniques. Designs or specifies inspection and testing mechanisms and equipment. Analyzes production/product results and standards. Recommends revision of specifications. Formulates or helps formulate quality assurance policies and procedures. May conduct training on quality assurance concepts and tools. Interfaces with all other engineering, manufacturing, product development and supply chain functions within the organization and with customers and suppliers on quality-related issues.Primary ResponsibilitiesAnalyze current objectives, identify improvement opportunities and apply scientific methods, statistics and problem solving techniques to improve and sustain product quality and process effectiveness.Maintain and upgrade the ISO9001:2015 Quality Management SystemPlan and execute projects and team activities to facilitate changes that have a significant impact on business resultsAssist operating units with Root Cause Analysis and development and implementation of corrective and preventive actions plans to improve overall quality resultsPresent to management on improvement projects and resultsEnsure applicability of current quality policies, procedures, and objectives by keeping informed of the latest updates and modifications of quality systemsCustomer contact and support for issue resolution QualificationsAt least 5 years of experience as a Quality Engineer in a manufacturing environment5 years Supervisory experienceMinimum 10 years progressive experience in manufacturingExperience in manufacturing involving roll goodsFood Manufacturing ExperienceBachelor’s Degree in engineering, a science or technologySix Sigma Black or Green Belt preferredExperience working in and implementing ISO 9001: 2015 Quality systemsHas developed quality control and quality improvement strategies and methodsPrevious experience writing quality system documents and training operators and supervisorsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsHas used statistical software like MinitabHas completed Gauge R&R studies and conducted process capability studiesCQE certificate (Certified Quality Engineer- ASQ)CMQ/OE (Certified Manager Quality/Organizational Excellence- ASQ)Certified Auditor (internal or external) ClosingThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of the work being performed by employees assigned to this position.
