Computer Scientist / Software Engineer as Senior Embedded Linux Developer (m/f/d) Your Task:

As a Senior Embedded Linux Developer at Leica Camera you are the driver of performance and security in our next generation Camera Platforms. You take pride in advising our development team about different approaches. You are energized, open-minded, have strong communication skills but above all you get things done, iterate fast and deliver real value to our customers.

Your Job will involve:

  • Design, maintain and update Linux Kernel components and user-space programs as well
  • Optimize system performance and drive experience to competitors (e.g. RTOS)
  • Knowing how to achieve the continuous delivery of software in a fast paced and dynamic environment
  • Participate in peer code reviews in the team

Our expectations:

  • BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science, Software Development, Software Engineering or Electronic Engineering or a related field
  • You are a skilled and passionate software engineer and have more than 5 Years Experience in dealing with one or more embedded platforms and Linux Kernel Development
  • You are fluent in C and C++
  • You have Experience
    • with tools like the arm-gcc toolchain, git and various script languages
    • High throughput communication drivers such as ethernet, USB, and PCIe
    • High performance inter-process communication
    • Implementing device drivers
    • Modifying the Linux Scheduler
  • We don’t expect you to be an expert in all of these technologies but would anticipate experience with some, combined with a curiosity for others – Docker, Gitlab, Microservices, SQL
  • You are not afraid of the unknown and about trying out new technologies
