Job Description

Top Required Skills:

  • STRONG grasp of Java (specifically JVM, Concurrency, Multithreading), either current experience with big data tech OR willingness to learn/familiarity.
  • They will work on big data oriented projects that use tech like Hive, Sqoop, Oozie, Scala, Hadoop.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working with big data technologies.
  • These projects are all built on Hadoop infrastructure

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the architecture, design and development of enterprise software solutions to business problems, working both autonomously when required, and collaborating effectively as part of a multi-location development team
  • Work closely with business owners, domain/data architects and engineers to ensure optimal design of data structures to support OLTP use cases, dashboards, reporting and analytical datasets for Credit Risk
  • Exhibit and drive Agile behaviors and technical excellence across a global team with focus on understanding and delivering business value in combination with defining and championing best practice software development standards in line with the firm’s standards and industry best practice
  • Own problems, seek help, provide guidance, and manage expectations of both IT and business stakeholders
  • Participate in and resolve findings in code reviews (4 eyes principle) of developed source code as well as supporting production incident resolution and root cause analysis where required
  • This is both a technical leadership role and a hands on engineering role. Primary responsibility will be for technical delivery but may include line management for a number of engineers

Skills and Experience:

  • Relevant experience in enterprise development with Java using Spring Boot
  • Strong understanding and experience designing and building REST micro services
  • Excellent problem solving skills in a distributed, multi-technology ecosystem. Strong understanding of concurrency, distributed systems development and performance optimization
  • Experience with architectural design patterns, highly optimized, low latency and massively scalable platforms. Experience setting up CI/CD pipelines in a containerized deployment environment (OpenShift, Kubernetes, Jenkins, etc.)
  • Hands on experience with all layers of the development stack, including automated test and deployment frameworks, to be able to collaboratively deliver front-to-back solutions, as well as champion best practice development techniques

How You’ll Lead:

  • Ability to communicate directly with peers, managers, and clients while facilitating development of a completed and successful
  • Organizational skills to manage multiple timelines and complete tasks quickly within the constraints of clients’ timelines and budgets. Ability to lead other engineers technically with or without direct line management responsibility
