Supervisor Expectations and Responsibilities Leading a successful shift at Brightwok is an important responsibility. There will be days when it’s easier and days that it’s incredibly hard. You are the captain of the ship and your fellow teammates will be looking to you when they have questions or when something unexpected happens. You will strategize, prioritize, and lead the team through your shift while charming guests and upholding the values of our organization. Show up to work on time and come mentally prepared for the day Treat all guests with the highest regard and respect Help other employees become better teammates and smarter at completing tasks Take initiative to find ways that Brightwok can improve; our food, our operations; our service; our space; etc. Keep an eye out on portion control of bases, veggies, sauces, and most importantly protein. Monitor food levels of prepped food and anticipate needs Come prepared to supervisor/leadership team meetings. Follow all sanitation procedures from maintaining fridge temps to washing hands and actively help the restaurant remain sparkling clean Uphold confidentiality of employee information/leadership meeting communication, Brightwok resources/guides/recipes, Brightwok financial information and other confidential information etc. Treat equipment, premises, food, and goods with respect and care Find work to do when business is slow and notice when co-workers need help Make the best of all unexpected events (i.e. team members calling off, unexpected high or low guest traffic) Actively monitor dining room and ensure a safe environment for guests and employees Be a knowledgeable resource on how our food is sourced, prepared, and served in our restaurant. Ask questions to learn about each menu offering. Help guests navigate our menu when it comes to dietary preferences and allergies Care about our community and strive for inclusion Call team members if they are late to their shift and ensure team members clock out by their scheduled clock out time unless approved by Manager or Asst. Manager, or supervisor on shift for a specific reason noted in daily log sheet. Ask questions and bring all unusual instances to Manager or Chef’s attention. Act professional in and out of work when it comes to spending time with other employees. Follow all closing shift responsibilities diligently including counting/reconciling drawers and the bank, filling out daily logs, cleaning and turning off all equipment, etc. Ask for help when you need it. Tell your leaders who they can help you.
