Kforce has a client in search of a DevOps Engineer in Atlanta, GA. Summary: The client is looking for a highly skilled and motivated DevOps engineer to join our talented Systems Development team. By joining our team, you will get to work in an exciting fast-paced industry using the latest cutting-edge technologies. We are looking for someone who is excited and passionate about cloud technologies, IT infrastructure, and infrastructure-as-code practices. Our ideal candidate has experience working with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Terraform for infrastructure-as-code (IaC) execution. Core job responsibilities:

  • Build, maintain and improve our AWS cloud-based cloud infrastructure utilizing Terraform for IaC best practices
  • Assess architectures and designs for security vulnerabilities and suggest and implement proper alternatives
  • Review and advise development teams on best practices around database, development, and CI/CD architecture best practices
  • Implement processes that support security and compliance requirements
  • Participate in defining the overall technology roadmap for the enterprise
  • Collaborate with IT teams to adopt appropriate tools and technologies to improve time-to-value of software development projects
  • Help improve the overall software development workflow
  • Work alongside our existing DevOps team to build and maintain a serverless based micro-service architecture
  • Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders
  • Take ownership in what is built and show a general passion for cloud technologies, development lifecycle, and IaC architecture
  • Continuously improve upon technical skills sets within assigned areas of expertise
  • Research and contribute technical information to the knowledge base

Job Requirements:


  • 3-5 years of experience analyzing technologies utilized within a company and developing steps and processes to improve and expand upon them
  • 2-4 years of experience managing AWS services in an enterprise organization
  • 1-2 years of experience managing AWS infrastructure in Terraform
  • Experience with Linux operating systems and command line tools
  • Experience with both infrastructure-as-a-service and container-based architectures
  • A deep understanding and experience implementing security best practices
  • Experience assisting other department engineers in creating practical demonstrations of proposed solutions and demonstrating them to other members of the team
  • Experience enabling Cl/CD pipelines using tools such as AWS Code Pipeline, Jenkins, Github, Infrastructure-as-a-Service, Containers (Docker/Kubernetes)
  • Experience in developing clear goals for all areas of a project and creating steps to oversee their timely execution
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills for working well with our talented IT team
  • Ability to write well designed, testable, and efficient code using the best software development practices and patterns
  • A passion for growing your skills, tackling interesting work and challenging problems
  • AWS certifications are a plus
  • Bonus points for skills related to: Serverless Framework, GDPR Compliance, HIPAA Compliance

Physical requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 75% of the time
  • The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery
