The Content Marketing Specialist helps small businesses grow through the planning, creation, and distribution of content assets like web pages, blog articles, video scripts, and more so that our clients can increase their organic website traffic via search engines.
As a Content Marketing Specialist, you’re responsible for managing between 40-60 accounts per month. This means that each month you’ll be accountable for planning, creating, and distributing content assets for each client based on their budgets. Each Content Marketing Specialist manages on average $25,000 of total budget per month.
You will also collaborate on a daily basis with a variety of other roles in the company, including but not limited to, Marketing Executives, Designers, and Project Managers. Collaboration includes discussing Content Marketing and SEO strategy, traffic data analysis, and overall client traffic growth.
The Content Marketing Specialist position thrives on autonomy, responsibility, and initiative to do what’s right for our clients.
Our offices are located in Fort Collins, CO, and Austin, TX. This position can be in-office, remote* (in approved states), or a hybrid of the two.
Salary begins at $30,000 per year.
What You’ll Do
You will fully manage the content and SEO strategies for 40-60 clients every month (depending on account size).
You will write creative and original content in the form of web pages, video scripts, blog content, and more.
You will apply technical SEO elements to better help websites rank on the search engines.
You will edit your peers’ work through an internal system before it is uploaded to the websites. Similarly, your peers will edit your work, too.
You will communicate with other internal Madwire employees to make sure your strategy is on par with the other departments (paid ads, social media, graphic design, etc).
You will report monthly Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to the marketing executive on each account to then pass along to the client to make sure the organic strategy is on the right track.
You will collaborate with Content Marketing Specialists through multiple meetings each week to further develop strategies and stay on top of the most recent search trends.

What are the daily duties?
Our office hours are 7-4pm MST, Monday through Friday. You are expected to work during and/or around those hours, whether in office, hybrid (for local Coloradoans), or remote. You are expected to support the team during those hours with a positive attitude, great effort, and an eagerness to keep learning. A day as a Content Marketing Specialist at Madwire can include keyword research; optimizing websites with title tags, meta descriptions, and page content; web page and blog writing; video script writing; and more. This position also includes data analysis and strategy in order to build, optimize, and continue successful strategies for clients.
How does the Content Marketing Specialist know what work to do for a client each month?
Each client has a portion of their monthly budget dedicated to their content marketing strategy. Each account has a specific Content Marketing Specialist assigned to manage the workflow, asset creation, and data analysis. It is up to the account manager, client, and Content Marketing Specialist to determine the best projects and assets to complete based on the client’s current digital presence and organic traffic goals.
What does the training process look like?
The first 90 days at Madwire you will train as a Content Creator. This training will include everything from the basics of Content Marketing and SEO to advanced strategies and tactics to help our clients get more organic website traffic.
What are the production standards for each Content Marketing Specialist?
The Content Marketing Specialist will be responsible for managing their book of clients each month. Each Content Marketing Specialist’s book can range between $23,000 – $30,000+. Production KPIs are set based on the Content Marketing Specialist’s book each month.
What are the opportunities for growth?
As a Content Marketing Specialist you will have two different opportunities for growth. The first is to earn the role of Senior Content Marketing Specialist. The second is to earn the role of Lead Content Marketing Specialist.

As a Content Creator, you will be paid the following:
$30,000 annual base salary.
As a Content Marketing Specialist, you will be paid the following:
$30,000 base annual salary.
10% commission on each completed credit.
