Job Details Estimated: $49,000 – $66,000 a year2 hours ago Qualifications – Molecular biology – Bachelor’s degree – Master’s degree Full Job Description YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES The primary responsibilities of this role, Research and Development Specialist III, are to: Conduct genetic analyses and design experiments in collaboration with statistical geneticists, breeders, and data scientists toward the identification of causal variants and deployment of trait linked markers in our genotyping labs; Solve problems of moderate to extensive scope, with team members in other analytical labs; Optimize workflows; Validate methods using multiple data sources; Demonstrate good judgment when identifying and implementing process improvements; Be accountable for cross-functional work in multiple platforms/process areas executes various lab analysis in a high throughput setting; Work on a typically a routine, technically diverse and sophisticated assignment to deliver daily/weekly targets; Adhere to established protocols and techniques; Operate and troubleshoot instrumentation; Solve problems autonomously using multiple data sources prioritizes and coordinates work within a large team and provide training to contingent workforce, maintaining detailed record keeping and required documentation; Achieve commitment to safety and adherence to safety protocols and best practices; Design and analyze the results of experiments in consultation with other specialists and scientists; Perform a variety of molecular biology and biochemistry experiments prepares reports with large data sets for supervisor review, under time constraints, across various project types; Communicate and interpret results of experiments, production KPIS, cost/benefit analysis, and lab related issues to partners and key stakeholders; Thrive on meeting challenges, insist on high quality deliverables, demonstrate effective problem-solving skills, and have proven initiative in some categories of accomplishments, either individually or as part of a group; Demonstrate knowledge of specialized lab and scientific techniques. More specifically related to this position, Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following: Required Qualifications: Non-degreed with at least 12 years of relevant experience or Bachelor’s degree with at least four years of related experience in academia or industry, or Master’s degree in biology, chemistry, engineering or related field with at least one year of relevant experience; Strong molecular biology acumen with the ability to independently design experiments and analyze data; Proficiency with data analysis and visualization software.
