Job Description
We are excited to be looking for a talented and motivated Updates Editor to join our team. If you are a detail-oriented writer/editor, preferably with knowledge surrounding finance and cryptocurrency, this may be the role for you.
We cover a wide range of topics — from investing, to cryptocurrency, personal finance, news and more. To best serve our audience with accurate, up-to-date information, we are looking to hire a skilled editor to manage our content updates.
As the Updates Editor, your efforts will have a significant impact on our results and performance metrics. Not only will your work increase traffic, reach, and engagement across the site, but it will also help us reach ambitious revenue goals — while providing readers with a better user experience.
You’ll work with our Content Writers and Editors, as well as, the wider SEO Team. Primarily, you’ll focus on updating evergreen content, such as guides, reviews and informational articles about stocks, crypto, personal finance, and more.
Responsibilities
- Take ownership of the updates process to drive up efficiency, and improve content quality sitewide
- Optimise content for SEO, refresh out-of-date information and identify opportunities for inserting commercial links to sponsored partners
- Ensure older content meets our new style requirements by making HTML fixes in WordPress, adding aesthetically pleasing images, etc.
- Improve the user experience by making it easier for readers to access featured products, find related content, and quickly consume information within our articles. (i.e. adding more clickable elements, inputting other relevant articles and easy-to-understand comparison tables, etc.)
- Perform keyword research to optimise content for SEO and competitor analysis to inspire your updates process
- Meet ambitious weekly/monthly deadlines and targets
- Ensure all edits meet our high-quality editorial standards, brand tone, and style
- Perform detailed data analysis of our content KPIs and draw actionable conclusions to prioritise content updates in a logical order
Qualifications
- 2+ years of proven experience writing content
- Ideally a bachelor’s degree in journalism, media studies, or similar
- Excellent written and communication skills in English
- General understanding of best SEO practices
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to work standard UK business hours (e.g., 9 am - 5 pm GMT)
- Ideally familiar with SEO/digital analysis tools, such as Ahrefs and Google Search Console
- Experience working with WordPress CMS is highly beneficial
- Organised work style and proper time management are a must
- Must understand the importance of fact-checking and “getting it right” with financial content
- Ability to edit carefully to avoid using overpromising language
- Fluent in English (Ideally a native speaker)
- Experience writing content that adheres to strict editorial guidelines, including style and tone.
