Role
The Office Manager role involves overseeing day-to-day office operations, ensuring a smooth and efficient work environment. Responsibilities include managing facilities, budgets, and suppliers while ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. The role also supports staff needs, coordinates office projects, and fosters a positive workplace culture.
Day-to-day That Means You’ll Be
- Office Operations Management: Oversee the smooth running of day-to-day office operations, ensuring a productive and well-organized environment.
- Facility Management: Manage office facilities, including maintenance, supplies, and equipment, while liaising with external service providers.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure the office complies with UK health and safety regulations, conducting risk assessments and implementing safety protocols.
- Budget & Expense Management: Monitor and manage the office budget, tracking expenses and ensuring cost efficiency.
- Supplier & Vendor Coordination: Manage relationships with suppliers and negotiate contracts to secure the best service and value.
- People Team Support - Assist with maintaining employee records, managing HR systems, and supporting employees.
- Administrative Support: Provide administrative support to the People team.
- Contribute to policy updates and maintain the employee handbook.
- Staff Onboarding & Support: Assist with onboarding new employees and handle office-related queries from staff.
- Office Culture & Events: Organize social events, team-building activities, and initiatives to foster a positive inclusive work environment.
- IT & Office Systems Coordination: Work with IT teams to ensure office technology and systems run smoothly, managing any upgrades or issues.
- Internal Communication: Act as the central point of contact for office-related communications, keeping staff informed of key updates.
- Lead the search for a new office space, including property research, viewings, lease negotiations, and coordinating the move.
