We are seeking a Head of Recruiting to lead our efforts in sourcing exceptional talent.
In this role, you will work closely with executives and organizational leaders to develop and execute a strategic hiring plan that aligns with our commitment to maintaining a small, but highly efficient and high-performing team (between 150-200 people).
Your primary objective will be to elevate our recruitment processes, implement effective structures, be a sparring partner to the leadership team, and mentor our team of 3 recruiters, 2 sourcers, and 1 coordinator.
We need someone who excels in ownership, creativity, and collaboration, and who is experienced in and dedicated to finding and retaining the best of the best.

What You'll Be Doing
- Strategic Leadership: Partner with senior leadership to define and implement a comprehensive hiring strategy that aligns with Matter Labs’ business objectives. Provide strategic direction on recruiting initiatives to support our mission and vision.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of recruiters and sourcers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture. Develop and refine recruitment processes and best practices to enhance team efficiency and candidate experience.
- Talent Acquisition: Oversee recruitment for all positions, with a focus on attracting top technical talent in the Web3 space. Implement innovative sourcing strategies, leveraging networks, industry events, and partnerships to build a robust talent pipeline.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the People Function and other departments to support broader organizational initiatives. Contribute to projects that enhance employee experience, diversity, and inclusion across the company.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilize data analytics to track and analyze recruitment metrics, identifying trends and areas for improvement. Use insights to refine strategies, streamline processes, and enhance the candidate experience.
- Market Intelligence: Stay updated with Web3 industry trends, market conditions, and the competitive landscape. Provide insights and recommendations to leadership on talent trends, compensation benchmarks, and best practices.
- Hands-On Recruitment: Engage in hands-on recruitment for senior-level and executive positions, with a focus on closing the most valuable candidates.
What We Look For In You
- Industry Insight: Deep passion for and understanding of the Web3 industry, with a proven track record in recruiting and leading within this space.
- Experienced Leader: Proven experience leading recruitment teams in both small (under 50 employees) and large (over 200 employees) fast-paced organizations.
- Strategic and Operational Balance: Ability to execute on tactical recruitment activities while contributing to high-level strategic planning and decision-making. Effective prioritization skills to achieve goals.
- Creativity and Efficiency: a keen eye for process improvement, creativity, and efficiency in talent acquisition. You are excellent at operational fundamentals but are constantly looking for innovative ways to do things
- Effective Communicator: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization. Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- An effective collaborator: Strong stakeholder management skills, you are an expert at navigating competing opinions and priorities. You draw on a variety of tools to influence and drive towards action.
- Experience: You’ll have between 10-15 years of experience in recruitment, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
