Sunset Cinema is looking for a passionate Marketing Manager to join our team in delivering our summer season of outdoor cinema across Australia. This is a contract role until the end of March.

Sunset Cinema is our flagship event brand, an outdoor cinema that runs across six national locations each spring/summer. Our event company also produces a range of other events throughout the year including gin festivals and other cinema events.

Role Description:
We are seeking a talented Marketing Manager to join the team. In this role, you lead the summer outdoor cinema campaign across 6 national locations. You will work across social, digital, PR, partnerships & OOH to ensure our events are the summer’s must-do activity. The Marketing Manager works closely with internal stakeholders, including our marketing executive & general manager, as well as external clients, sponsors & film studios, to create multi-channel campaigns that align with our event’s vision and objectives.
We lead the full marketing plan internally, including creating content, booking paid media, running social/digital ads and sending press releases. Our marketing plans are agile and align with various phases throughout the summer.
This role is ideal for someone with experience across a broad range of marketing areas. Experience working within festivals, events, entertainment or the arts would be a plus but not necessary. Our team is enthusiastic about the experiences we create, and welcome new ideas, creative concepts and input.
Duties:
- Collaborate with the General Manager to plan and implement the Sunset Cinema summer marketing campaign.
- Execute the plan across multiple channels, including social media, email, digital, print and PR.
- Regularly review the marketing plan in line with ticket sales and event timelines.
- Manage multiple marketing activities across six locations throughout the spring/summer season.
- Manage the creation of content needed for the marketing campaign and onsite requirements.
- Progress and refine the brand’s image, design and position within each location’s market.
- Ensure sponsorship obligations are met through the marketing campaign.
- Work with external stakeholders including councils, tourism bodies and film distributors to ensure effective collaboration.
- Manage the marketing executive and their workload.
- Assist is maintaining an optimal website.
- Assist in general event development, sponsorship & client pitch materials, and business endeavours.
Requirements:
- 3-5 years’ experience in marketing, including digital, social media & eDM.
- Experience with paid social/digital media (Meta & Google Ads).
- Experience within either the events, arts, lifestyle brands, alcohol, or entertainment industry a bonus.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with a small team and external stakeholders.
- Ability to manage time sensitive projects and competing priorities.
- Passion for events, movies, and creating memorable experiences a plus!
Work Environment:
This role is based out of our Sydney office, with work from home flexibility available. Occasional travel to our different events is to be expected throughout the season.
As most of our events run outside of working hours, there will be some need to be flexible with working schedule.
Employment Basis:
This is a full-time contract position, commencing late September/ early October. The contract runs until the end of March.
Remuneration is based on a $80k - $90k (+ Super) Salary.
