About The Role
The Stakeholder Manager plays a pivotal role in driving the growth of the vocational qualifications business, both within the UK and internationally. With colleagues in the stakeholder management team, they are positioning Pearson as an organization dedicated to addressing employability skills gaps, driving technical skills.
Possessing excellent communication skills, and having a good understanding of the higher education market, competitor activity and customer needs, you will drive the growth of the Pearson vocational qualification portfolio through identifying and leading partnerships with end-users of Pearson qualifications, which underpin product value and enable growth.. You will become an advocate for Pearson and will champion the BTEC brand with both internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities
- Possessing excellent communication skills, you will develop and manage highly visible relationships and partnerships with key internal and external stakeholders, including UK and international sales teams, product teams, Universities and influential education organizations; providing thought leadership on market trends and seeking recognition of our BTEC qualifications to support learner progression.
- You will ensure high visibility of your successes with internal and external stakeholders, taking ownership of internal and external progression & recognition related assets..
- You will be accountable for managing the effective design and implementation of a global progression and recognition strategy and operations plan with Higher Education Institutions
- You will coordinate teams to ensure wider Pearson Workforce Skills division has data and oversight of high-level recognition in countries where we operate (ministry recognition, regulation, endorsement, etc.)
- Your passion for technical education, coupled with good research skills, will enable you to lead on thought leadership initiatives and HE engagement activities to support our proposition, and articulate how our qualifications interact with degree pathways to support learners progression into higher education..
- Your expertise in terms of government recognition and university partnerships will shape the team strategy and drive revenue for which you will be accountable.
Key Deliverables
- Identify and lead strategic collaborations and partnerships with universities and key education organizations.
- Gain recognition of Pearson qualifications with Higher Education Institutions around the world, focusing on key markets and enabling students globally to achieve ambitions through progression opportunities.
- Be the expert on HE around the world and use this knowledge to build advocacy amongst HE stakeholder groups for Pearson BTEC qualifications.
- Manage mapping activities to secure exemptions and formal articulation agreements from external partner institutions.
- Develop and lead on recognition and progression strategy; liaising with colleagues to agree on tactics to secure global and local recognition, from HE, government and regulatory and local equivalency approaches.
- Build, maintain and develop a pipeline for progression and recognition activities in key markets segmented by our stakeholder groups (e.g. Universities, International Governments, Credit Evaluators, Admission Services, Schools, Colleges).
- Monitor the marketplace; identifying and sharing information on global trends and competitor activity, driving action through other teams where necessary.
- Support the Strategic Lead for Stakeholder Engagement with large bids and tenders, special projects and new market expansion opportunities.

Experience / Knowledge
- Experience in working within higher education
- Knowledge and experience in developing successful strategies for services.
- Forward-thinking, pragmatic and commercial approach to work.
- Strong written and oral communication, including strong business writing skills, with the ability to present complex issues in an easily understood fashion to internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience of conducting market research to inform product propositions.
- Experience within an international educational context.
- Experience in relationship management and partnership activity.
- Knowledge on handling data and managing digital presence online
- Experience in working with marketing and sales teams

- Sales experience.
- Knowledge of vocational education and current market and policy drivers. Familiar with university organizational structures.
