Job Type: Permanent Full Time
Full service psychiatry consultant position for a 23 bed Schedule One Facility. Working collaboratively with a highly involved group of family physicians in an established community mental health program and with community agencies. Teaching opportunities exist with Rural Ontario Medical Program (ROMP) on an ongoing basis.
Provision of on-call services based at OSMH (Currently 1 in 3) with support from mental health hospitalists and crisis intervention staff
Administrative and Quality:
• Participation in strategic planning and program development of psychiatry services.
• Participation in ongoing quality improvement and safety activities.
• Participation in hospital committees pertaining to specialty and as required by the credentialed staff by-laws.
• Office/Billing/Secretary Qualifications
College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) unrestricted license that allows the physician to fulfil the requirements of this position.
• Fellowship or Certification in Psychiatry recognized by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC).
Previous psychiatry experience preferred.
Function effectively as a consultant, integrating all of the CanMEDS roles to provide optimal, ethical and patient-centred medical care,
• Seek appropriate consultation from other health professionals, recognizing the limits of their expertise.
Member of the credentialed staff of Orillia Soldiers' Memorial Hospital.
