Reporting to the CHRO, the Manager, Human Resources will provide strategic leadership and support for HR operations at our Okanagan Falls facility while overseeing HR functions for the corporate head office. This role plays a critical role in fostering a positive workplace culture, driving HR initiatives, and ensuring compliance within a unionised environment. The HR Manager will act as a key partner to management, providing guidance on employee relations, labour relations, and HR best practices, while overseeing key people programs such as onboarding, succession planning, workforce planning, and performance management.
This role is a one-year contract and will be based out of our Head Office in Vancouver, BC.
Collaborate with local management and corporate leadership to create and promote a positive work environment aligned with the company’s values and mission.
Lead labour relations efforts, acting as the primary contact for union interactions, resolving grievances, and fostering positive labour-management relations to minimise arbitration risks.
Provide HR support and oversight for the corporate head office, ensuring alignment with organisational HR strategies and initiatives.
Ensure compliance with collective agreements, labour laws, and HR policies, providing guidance and training to managers to ensure consistent application.
Advise and mentor managers on employee relations, performance management, and conflict resolution, building strong leadership capabilities.
Collaborate with the HR team to develop and implement effective people programs, including onboarding, employee engagement, succession planning, and performance management.
Oversee workforce planning and optimise workforce scheduling to align staffing with production demands and minimise overtime costs.
Formulate and recommend HR policies that uphold organisational standards and compliance with employment laws.
Support the implementation and maintenance of Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) to enhance HR processes and reporting capabilities.
5+ years of HR experience, with at least 3 years as a Business Partner or HR Manager.
~ Experience in both the manufacturing industry as well as a corporate environment is considered an asset.
~ A degree in Business Administration, Psychology, Law, or Human Resources, or equivalent experience, is considered an asset.
~ Proven experience in performance management, organisational development, and team-building initiatives.
~ Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to align HR initiatives with overall business objectives and values.
~ Experience with implementing and maintaining Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) is an asset.
~ Must possess or have the ability to possess a passport for travel. Travel will be required for training and development purposes approximately twice per year.
The salary for this position is $110,000 – $130,000 CAD. Our group benefits package, which has no waiting period, includes extended health and dental benefits, in addition to a Health Care Spending Account and a fitness allowance.
